Laura Friedrich’s miserable life is interrupted by the announcement that her supposedly spectacular sister is coming to visit from Berlin. She suddenly drops everything and devotes herself entirely to preparing her life and her Latin American city for the incoming European gaze. When the arrival is delayed by apparent consular problems, Laura suspects a conspiracy against her. Suddenly, she finds herself caught up in a frenzy of mystery and international suspicion. She will not be stopped until she has her sister on Argentine soil.
