The Wildwood Diptych is a tale about an ancient forest told in two ways – from the perspective of nature and that of a man. The film was inspired by the ongoing conflict over one of the most valuable forests in Europe – the Białowieża Primeval Forest.

Szymon Ruczyński and Katarzyna Małyszko both study Animation at the Lodz Film School. Katarzyna comes from Wrocław, where she graduated from the Wrocław School of Photography. Szymon is a filmmaker from Białowieża, a village in the center of the ancient Białowieża Forest. In their film, „The Wildwood Diptych”, they combined Katarzyna’s activist pro-environmental attitude with Szymon’s insight into the conflict caused by the controversial logging in the Białowieża Forest. +
