Akim, a trans man and political refugee, faces bureaucratic and social barriers in a refugee reception center. His desire to learn German is denied, as language courses are only available to recognized refugees. Unable to understand the language around him, he hears German as an indistinct stream of sounds, like gibberish. The story is based on the real-life experiences of the director.
