This week starts with a breathtaking program: “A riveder le stelle”, On the Biggest Wilderness Area In Europe “La Val Grande” and the film “Angie: Lost Girls” (Europe-an Premiere), A Raw Story of Adolescence, Directed by Julia Verdin, Producer of More Than 30 Films Including The Merchant of Venice with Al Pacino

Monday 30th November at 4:20 pm: some space dedicated to International shorts in competition with: “Consolation” by Lina Asadullina (Russia), “Decent People” by Maxime Roy (France), “El remanso” by Sebastián Valencia Muñoz (Colombia) and “How Scared She Was” by Alessandro Repetti (United Kingdom/Italy).

At 6:20 pm the Italian documentary: “A riveder le stelle” by Emanuele Caruso (Italian preview) is a letter to the future of humanity. We are in the future and man has failed to save his planet. Climate change caused a catastrophe. To those who ask us from the future how we could allow it, we respond with the story of our present: a 7-day walking trip in Val Grande, the largest wild oasis in Europe, near Lake Maggiore.

At 8:10 pm Angie: Lost Girls by Julia Verdin (USA), European premiere. Angie Morgan is still in her teenage stage. She is rebellious, acts against her absent parents and has a new secret boyfriend who runs a sex trafficking network and drags Angie into a terrifying world of rape and abuse. As the police and her parents struggle to find her, Angie and the other girls struggle to stay alive. Julia Verdin, in addition to being a director, has produced and co-produced over 30 films including The Merchant of Venice with Al Pacino.

From 10:10 pm: a space dedicated to the Italian Shorts in competition at the festival: “Farinata la tredicesima notte” by Giovanni Guidelli, “Il Battesimo” by Francesco D’Ignazio and “Il confine è un bosco” by Giorgio Milocco. At 6:00 pm the special events of RIFF 2020. In the focus entitled “Il Cinema Nel Nuovo Mercato Post-Covid” Francesco Perciballi, CEO of Tixter, will talk about latest digital technologies for the financing and distribution of film and audiovisual products. Then, the virtual pitch-day Sceneggiatori incontrano il futuro”.
