Here are the talks and panels which will see the involvement of many realities of the national film scene; three unique opportunities to discuss the new challenges in cinema and audiovisuals’ business.

As every year, the RIFF hosts a series of events dedicated to the film industry through talks and panels with professionals, a way to promote dialogue and discussion about some of the great challenges of contemporary cinema.

On Sunday 29 November, we begin with ‘What happened to dreams?’, a conference on the future of the Italian film industry after the pandemic. The event, promoted by CNA Cinema Audiovisivo Roma in collaboration with Cinema d’iDEA and Kalabrone Film, wants to bring attention to Cinema in this moment of economic and artistic challenges.

The conference will follow the screening of the documentary with the same title, directed by Patrizia Fregonese de Filippo.

The Pitch Day takes place on Monday 30 November: Francesco Perciballi, CEO of the Tixter platform, will join us to talk to us about latest digital tools and technologies for the financing and distribution of audiovisual products.

On this occasion, the finalists of the scripts’ RIFF competition, will discuss with the guests on how to submit a concept in the new post-covid market. After that, there will be face to face meetings between the producers and the candidate whose project they are most interested in.

Finally, our last panel will be dedicated to an in-depth look at the new black scene in US cinema. On Thursday 3 December, the critic and historian of cinema Lapo Gresleri will joins us whit his talk ‘BLACK FILMS MATTER’ where he will tell us about trends, styles and themes of a fast-developing cinema which is also undermining the Hollywood iconographic system, in order to offer different perspectives on important and unsettled social issues.

The events will be live-streamed; you will soon find all the info and links on our website.
