In collaboration with the American Embassy in Italy, RIFF dedicates a section to the best American independent film production in the XV edition.
The criteria for works to be included in the festival from an endless proposal of works from the USA was to select the most important from the American Cinema Festival of the last two years, films which have won prestigious awards for their high artistic value and have drawn the attention of international distributors.
Each film has only one chance for a prize or participation although most of them have obtained numerous nominations and have been presented in several festivals in the United States and worldwide.
The section is based on four fundamentals: gender theory, diversity, cutting-edge technology  and live streams;  what RIFF has been promoting since fifteen years.
