SPQL

“Famolo Strano”. This weird edition of RIFF could only start like this: with SPQL by Francesco Cabras, the ironic celebration of this crazy period and of the forced isola-tion millions of italians had to face.

The RIFF, differently from its typical frame at Nuovo Cinema Aquila, will rely on the streaming system to bring its catalog to the audience’s homes; the SPQL event – Sonetti Pandemici Quantunquemente Lodoliani will get the ball rolling to establish the im-portance of the pandemic in the creative setting of this period.

The event, organized by director Francesco Cabras in collaboration with the Roman writer Marco Lodoli, will recount these long months in its own way through a themed multimedia project. About thirty artists, singers, directors and authors of various kinds will indirectly at-tend with their small contribution; videos from a few seconds to several minutes, dedicat-ed to the recitation of some unpublished verses of the writer. Thirty artists and clips, for a real “remote” installation; the presentation will obviously take place online, with some of the names involved. To give their contribution, old acquaintances of the Italian scene such as Ascanio Celestini, Sabrina Impacciatore, Ardecore, Carl Brave, Enrico Mon-tesano, Simona Marchini, Giorgio Tirabassi, and many others; appointment at 9:00 pm on November 26th, obviously on MyMovies, for the official opening of the event.

The speakers will be:

Marco Lodoli, poet and writer, author of the sonnets;

Francesco Cabras, director, author and curator of the SPQL project on Lodoli’s sonnets;

Lavinia Mancusi, musician and performer, who will sing two sonnets live with guitar and voice;

Giampaolo Felici, musician and performer;

Alessandra Bruno, director and author;

Paolo Rocca, musician and folk music scholar (as moderator and interviewer).
