With “Closing”, Alessandro Rossetto returns to his city, Padua, to recount the closing of hairdresser Flavia’s old shop, on the southern outskirts. The film portrays the small/big world of the neighbourhood around the shop of Flavia, who leaves her work after 45 years. The delicate narrative of “Closing” is founded on the interweaving of the last days of the business and the surrounding neighbourhood.

Alessandro Rossetto is a filmmaker, director, cinematographer and camera operator. Author of several documentaries considered among the most significant of his generation, including “Bibione Bye Bye One” (1999) and “Closing” (2001), both presented in competition at the Torino Film Festival, and “The Colony” (2012), he made his fiction debut in 2013 with “Piccola patria”, presented at the Venice Film Festival, as was the subsequent “Effetto Domino” (2019). In 2021 he made “The Italian Banker”. He also directed “Il fuoco di Napoli” (1997), “Nulla due volte” (2005), “Feltrinelli” (2006) and “L’orchestra di Piazza Vittorio: I diari del ritorno” (2007).
