With four world premieres, two European premieres, and three Italian premieres, the documentaries in competition, coming from Italy, Greece, Germany, France, Norway, Sweden, Finland, USA, Russia, Vietnam, and Papua New Guinea, confirm the highly international climate of the RIFF Awards 2025.
Photographing the wind, social commentary and witchcraft, the fall of the Assad clan, peoples victimized by institutionalized racism, artistic journeys and revolts against exploitation and censorship, the relationship between man and nature, and the working-class condition of women in Vietnam.
There are also two special looks at the city of Rome: one on its cinemas and their fragilities, the other on the arrival of hip hop in the mid-1980s.
