The RIFF returns with a special Forum dedicated to the intersection of cinema and artificial intelligence, pushing past the boundaries of visual experimentation. Under the banner of “Hackering the Frame,” this second edition explores the act of deconstructing and re-signifying the traditional cinematic frame through the subversive and creative use of algorithms.
Divided into training sessions, screenings, and a public panel, the project invites reflection on the evolution of “visual justice” and the new aesthetics shaped by AI. Bringing together industry professionals, filmmakers, and researchers, the debate will raise crucial questions: is AI merely a tool, or is it a true “hacker” of our collective imagination?
The programmed works, entirely created using next-generation artificial intelligence tools, will serve as a concrete starting point to redefine concepts of ethics, intellectual property, and co-authorship. An open and essential conversation to understand how technology can become an ally of artistic disobedience and creative freedom in contemporary cinema.
