Johann Wilhelm Trollmann becomes middleweight champion in Nazi Germany. He is the first Romani boxer in the world to win the title. But he is imprisoned in the concentration camps of Wittenberge and Neuengamme. He decides to die a champion and fights against a Nazi kapo who challenges him. The gypsy Rukeli (which means tree) knocks out the Nazi and the entire apparatus of power.
