The International Short Film Festival Cyprus promotes the art of filmmaking through a wide range of some of the best short films from around the world.
ISFFC supports creativity and independence in the making of short films and provides international filmmakers with stimulating ideas.
National and international films compete in the seven day festival held in Limassol to achieve recognition and awards amounting to €20,000. They jury is composed of sector experts and industry insiders, academics and film show promoters. Retrospectives, tributes, children programs, seminars, workshops and master classes complete the extensive program of this festival endorsed by the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture. The festival’s goal is not only to introduce debut works but also promoting co-productions. Cyprus beautiful landscape and scenery, where West meets East, is the perfect setting to boost creativity thanks to its perfect combination between tradition and modernity. Cinema is indeed flourishing in Cyprus and in its honour RIFF is going to host “Cipro Retro”, a selection of films from the archives of the Cypriot historical film library. Among the short films competing this year, RIFF welcomes the winner of last year’s ISFFC edition.
