Below, you will find a brief description of the movies selected.
After his success in prestigious film festivals, Sebastien Laudenbach’s has highly been expected for his first feature film, “The Girls without Hands”which will be screened in this edition of the festival. Furthermore, “A Young Girl in Her Nineties” is another must-see film of the RIFF 2016, by Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi, the Franco-Italian actress, writer, and director. The movie is about Alzheimer besides the story of a crazy love. Also, “Women against Isis”, a documentary by Pascale Bourgaux, about the combat of the Kurdish Army, illustrates the courageous fight of young girls against the Islamic state.
In this edition of the festival, there are several new French talents to be discovered by their first short films. “A Grand Silence”, (Veil of Sienece), by Julie Gourdain, narrates the story of young girls in a house in 1968 while “Serval et Chaumier” by Bastien Daret and Arthur Goisset is an explosive conflict between two magicians in 1896. “Minh Tâm” the Vincent Maury’s debut is about a 33-year-old single mother and “Cour de récré” is an animation concerning first love at high school.
Last but not least, the movie, “Limbo”, a new production of Sacrebleu, directed by Konstantina Kotzamani, a film already been selected in Berlin and Locarno, narrates an extraordinary world of wolves and lambs.
