Rome is declared open city and in March 1944 Elena joins the Patriotic Action Groups (GAP). When one of her companions proposes to attack the Nazis in the narrow street of via Rasella, the whole group prepares a perfect plan to carry out the attack at 3.52 pm. A few hours later though, another order is fulfilled, one that forces the all group to face their own demons.
