Photojournalism today and the photojournalists’ bond with their stories
The masterclass is aimed at all reportage photography enthusiasts and at those who want to get a closer look at the work of the photojournalist.

What does it mean to be a photojournalist today? How has the idea of photography changed in recent decades? How much does aesthetics prevail over the story in contemporary reportage? How do you get deep into a story? What does it mean to work for ten years on a project? How do you define the interior journey that leads to the creation of a great reportage?
These are some of the themes that Valerio Bispuri will address in his masterclass on photojournalism. Starting from a theoretical reflection, and retracing the basic concepts for a story’s construction, the journalist will show how much photography can be not only a means of personal expression but also a tool for captioning and representing reality. This lecture will be based on the direct account of Valerio Bispuri’s experience, on the analysis of his works and on the dialogue with the attendees.
The masterclass will be two hours long, during which photographs and small documentaries will also be screened.

Cosa vuol dire essere un fotoreporter oggi. Come è cambiata l’idea di fotografia negli ultimi decenni. Quanto l’estetica prevale sul racconto della realtà nel reportage contemporaneo. Come si entra in profondità in una storia. Cosa vuol dire lavorare per dieci anni ad un progetto. Come si definisce l’itinerario interiore che porta a realizzare un grande reportage.
Sono questi alcuni dei temi che Valerio Bispuri affronterà nella sua masterclass sul reportage. A partire da una riflessione teorica, ripercorrendo i concetti fondamentali per la costruzione di una storia, l’autore mostrerà quanto la fotografia possa essere allo stesso tempo mezzo di espressione personale e strumento di racconto della realtà. Questo percorso sarà fondato sul racconto diretto dell’esperienza di Valerio Bispuri, sull’analisi dei suoi lavori e sullo scambio di impressioni con i partecipanti.
La masterclass ha la durata di due ore nelle quali oltre al racconto da parte dell’autore saranno proiettate fotografie e piccoli documentari.
