The exploration into the world of film photography continues. After hosting Luciano Tovoli, Fabrizio Lucci, Gergely Poharnok, Federico Annicchiarico, Sandro de Frino, this year the RIFF hosts Paolo Carnera.
Paolo Carnera has directed the photography of numerous films and documentaries by award-winning directors. To name but a few, his collaborations with Mario Martone for Nostalgia and Laggiù qualcuno mi ama (both 2022); with Paolo Taviani for Leonora addio (2022); with the D’Innocenzo brothers for La terra dell’abbastanza (2018), America Latina (2022) and Favolacce (2020), which won him the Nastro D’Argento for best photography; with Paolo Virzì for La bella vita (1994) and Ferie d’agosto (1996); with Francesca Archibugi for Verso sera (1990) and Il grande cocomero (1993); with Stefano Sollima for Romanzo criminale – La serie (2008-2010), ACAB – All Cops Are Bastards (2012) for which he received a David di Donatello nomination, Suburra (2015), Adagio (2023) and Io Capitano by Matteo Garrone for which he received a David di Donatello Prize.
