“Les filles et les garçons de mon âge” tells the story of the last weekend that Hector, a 14-year-old Cuban-Canadian boy, is spending in Montreal, in the housing cooperative where he was born and raised. His mother, Iulia, who is about 38-40 years old, of Romanian origin, married Bruno, an Italian-Canadian of about 57-60 years old, who also lives in the cooperative. Iulia has been a widow for a long time. Bruno and Iulia are thinking of changing her life now. They want to open an ice cream shop on a beach in California. But Ettore is afraid of the unknown and of leaving his microcosm. He grew up with the other children in the cooperative. They attended the same kindergarten, then elementary school and finally middle school. Hector is secretly in love with Noa, a girl his age who also lives in the cooperative. Before leaving, he must find the courage to confess his love. The great journey coincides with the first kiss and the passage from childhood to adolescence.
