A quiet village in the Italian province, on the shores of a lake. A mysterious sales agent, who arrives in the village on a stormy night, wants to rent the flat of a wealthy man, but seems to be more interested in the woman who lived there before, whose track seems to have been lost.
Nothing is ever so placid and transparent. No one is ever calm and still in their certainty. Under the surface of appearances moves the world of emotions that, like water, always changes its forms.
