When riots break out in Venezuela’s capital, Roque heads for the Amazon jungle to restore the abandoned lodge he built during happier, healthier days. As the jungle closes in on him, good friends encourage bad habits and whisper promises of finding gold.

Jorge Thielen Armand is a director and producer. In 2015, Jorge founded La Faena with Rodrigo Michelangeli, a production company dedicated to art-house films. His debut feature “La Soledad” (2016) premiered at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival and garnered over a dozen awards across a 50+ festival run, including the Miami Film Festival’s Audience Award and the French Critics’ Union Prize in Biarritz. The Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) and MUBI released the film theatrically in the UK. Jorge’s documentary “Flor de la Mal” (2015) won the Jury Award for Best Documentary Short at Cine Las Americas International Film Festival, and was exhibited at many festivals around the world including Margaret Mead, Sarasota, and Ridm. He holds a Communication Studies BA from Concordia University, and is an alumnus of the Venice Biennale College, TIFF’s Writers Studio, and the Berlinale Talent Campus.

The thriller “Survivors” by Guillaume Renusson starring Denis Ménochet, Zar Amir Ebrahimi and Victoire Du Bois arrives in Italian cinemas from March 7, distributed by No.Mad Entertainment. Winner of the XXII edition of the RIFF Awards 2023, the film marks the directorial debut of the young Renusson, who convinced the French public and critics thanks to the mix of genres at the service of a human and political message.

European premiere at RIFF 2023 of the film “Kemba” by Kelley Kali awarded at the Sundance Film Festival 2024 by the Wind Rider Institute in the presence of the protagonist. Based on the life of Kemba Smith, an advocate for criminal justice reform, Kemba became involved in the government’s “war on drugs.” Although she was a first-time nonviolent drug offender, she received a 24-year sentence for her boyfriend’s crimes. Congratulations to the director!!!

Italian premiere at the RIFF Awards 2023 “Tales of Babylon” by Pelayo de Lario will be released on iTunes from February 12th. On the run from their evil mobster grandfather, two brothers will join forces with a pair of hitmen with a flair for theatrics in their search for a new life in this story of crime, violence and redemption.
