ITALIAN FILMS: The official selection

RIFF Awards 2012 has officially announced the “National Future Film Competition”. The finalists are “The Fantastic Four” works of: Hedy Krissane author of “Aspromonte”, David Petrucci, director of “Canepazzo”, Emanuele Cerman who wrote “Satan In Nomine”, and last but not least “Ristabanna” from Cardillo and De Plano. The authors in competition are accomplished in the audiovisual sector, like Krissane, television and film actress, who moved behind the camera, winning awards in 2009 and 2010 with the short film “Wings of Wax” . This year, RIFF presents the strange journey of an entrepreneur in search of his artist brother Brianza, who mysteriously disappeared on tour, a bizarre tale of investigations in the hills of Aspromonte, on the tracks of the kidnappers. David Petrucci, with his great experience, including in the field of music videos, presents “Canepazzo”- a tale of a child determined to discover the truth of the killing of his father, who died at the hands of the famous serial killer “Canepazzo” (crazy dog). With a theatrical career in the company of Ettore Scola, Emanuele Cerman presents “Satan In Nomine”, the stark reality of two young people involved in satanic masses, inspired by a true story. Daniele De Plano and John Cardillo, both academically trained in film, participating with “Ristabanna” (Sicilian colloquialism to say “right here”), emphasize the importance of belonging and roots in a story where Ben Gazzara, is his last film, stays in touch via video messages sent overseas to the States where the beautiful Rosina works.
