Below, you will find a brief description of the films of this section.
“Bar Mario”, by Stefano Lisci, tells the story of a ship-shaped bar which is considered as a reference point for the inhabitants of Rencio district of Bolzano. Also, Corviale in the “Gente di amore e rabbia”, by Stefano Casertano, is the largest residential building in Europe with more than 8,000 tenants in its vicinity which is represented as a meeting place and an alternative for the young and the unemployed in the area. Likewise, in “Europia”, by Fabio Colasso and Sirio Timossi, one, gently, dives into the stories and perspectives of those who have tried to forget a country war, escape from an epidemic, reunite with their loved ones, start a new life and endanger their lives. Colasso and Timossi have lived several days with migrants.
Immigration is also the topic in the documentary “Porto il velo adoro i Queen”, by Luisa Porrino, which describes a new identity presented through the eyes of new generations of immigration from 70s and 90s.
Likewise, in this edition of the festival, “Sull’orlo della Gloria”, by Maurizio Sciarra, will be presented, while illustrating escapes and approaches to new worlds. On the other hands, “Ombre Della Sera” presents the difficult processes of family and social reintegration.
Furthermore, “2 Girls” by Marco Speroni, writer, director, and producer, as well as “la Storia Di Sakiko”, by Francesco Mancini, and “Puzzle città”, by Matteo Alemanno, are documentaries which you do not have to miss this year!
The out of Competition International Section
The biographical documentary “Crossing Rachmaninoff”, by Rebecca Tansley, and “A New Moon Over Tohoku”, by Linda Ohama, are placed in this section. Also, “Une jeune fille de 90 ans”, by Valeria Bruni Tedeschi and Yann Coridian, focuses on a 92-year old woman who declares her love to her dance teacher. However, “Under the Gun”, by Stephanie Soechtig, looks at the period after the massacre of Sandy Hook when 20 children were killed at school, but no change was made in American federal laws. Moreover, “Women against Isis”, by Pascale Bourgaux, set in Syria, where people are under the constant threat of Isis, illustrates a surprising and significant number of women who fight against terrorists.
