EVENT INFORMATION

After everything that has happened in America, the RIFF has decided to deal with the issue of dis-crimination and racism, and it is going to do that with the film historian and critic Lapo Gresleri. Born in Bologna in 1985, Gresleri mainly deals with African-American cinema and in 2018, he pub-lished the monograph “Spike Lee: Orgoglio e pregiudizio nella società Americana” (Bietti, Milan).

The meeting will be an opportunity to explore the new black scene of American cinema: trends, styles and themes of a fast-developing cinema which, while reworking consolidated film canons, is also undermining the Hollywood iconographic system, in order to offer different perspectives and points of view on burning and unsettled social issues that today, more than ever, need urgently to be solved.
