Niccolò, a successful man in his forties with a desire to give back what life has given him, becomes the foster father of Federico, an eighteen-year-old with a troubled past who grew up in care. A deep and complex bond forms between them – an emotional rollercoaster that never quite finds balance. Their coexistence is complicated by the shadow of Afrha, Fede’s mother, still tied to him by an invisible umbilical cord he has never truly cut. Though their limits prevent them from becoming a traditional family, they change one another, each giving the other the tools to start over: to become a father, and to grow up.
