Director biographical note
Yannis Karpouzis, a filmmaker and visual artist based in Athens, received the Newcomer Film-maker Award at the 22nd Thessaloniki International Film Festival for “Nikos Karouzos: Poems on the Tape Recorder”, among other honors. His work has been shown at Artgenève, the New Museum in New York, the Benaki Museum, and Les Rencontres d’Arles. In 2023 he joined Sarajevo Talents and won the Pack & Pitch Award for his feature project “Searching for Thule”. In 2024 he completed the Greek-German short “Magdalena Hausen: Frozen Time”. His projects explore political identities, social imbalances, and contemporary conflicts.
