On Sunday, November 20 at Nuovo Cinema Aquila, the documentaries “Come una vera coppia,” “Libere di vivere,” “Il teatro è adesso,” and “D’Annunzio, l’uomo che inventò se stesso” will be screened in competition. “Un Mondo fantastico” will have its international debut and Serena Grandi with the short film “Al di là del mare.”

Christian Angeli will present “Come una vera coppia” on Sunday, November 21 at Nuovo Cinema Aquila. This documentary chronicles the first holiday experienced by young adults with Down syndrome. It describes closeness and misunderstandings, hope for the future, carelessness and responsibility, and in the distance, a wary family.
Following at 4 o’clock will be screened the short films “Blue dots” by Lorenzo Squarcia, and “Libere di vivere” by the director Antonio Silvestre. This documentary explores domestic violence through first-person testimony and in-depth interviews. Through the film’s reconstruction we will learn about those who have experienced domestic violence and recovered their courage. “Unawarely entering in a prison without walls, a jail of inadequacy and loneliness.”
The documentary “Il teatro è adesso,” which has been documenting the struggles of artists and employees in Italian theatres since 2020, will be individually presented by Alessandro Gaeta (2022) at 6 o’clock. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 epidemic, the conditions of artists and theatre workers have received some attention, but they are largely unknown and underappreciated because they are not recognized by the law and as a result do not receive any benefits or protection from the law. This documentary weaves together statements made by theatre workers, live performances, and old photos to recreate a still-going protest.

Starting at 6:15 pm, will be screened the Italian short films in competition: “Lupo+Agnello” by Giuseppe Schettino (2022), “Al di là del mare” by Carloalberto Biazzi (2022) and starring Eros Pagni and Serena Grandi who will be attending the festival, “Cinquemarzo” by Stefano Mlachiodi (2022), “Tutù” by Lorenzo Tiberia (2022).
The directors Francesca Pirani and Stefano Viali will personally present “D’Annunzio, l’uomo che inventò se stesso” at 8 o’clock in 2022. It is a popular and cinematic portrayal of the controversial poet from Pescara, whose philosophy is closely connected to current events.

A world premiere about two polar opposite men who attempt to make ends meet by working on music, their single shared love, will be shown at 8:15 p.m. by the filmmaker Michele Rovini (2022). Igor and Graziano, the two major characters, are diametrically opposed to one another: one is refined and introverted, while the other is crafty, vivacious, and not given to introspection. They were born during the “sports” financial and economic crisis and struggle to make ends meet while pursuing their single shared passion.

Starting at 10:00 p.m., the international short film program will feature “Fatjona” by Steve Bache (Germany, 2022), “Get Home Safe” by Tamara Den (Germany, 2022), “Cockroach” by Anna Melnikova (Russia, 2022), and “Someone tell me how to feel” by Michal Holland (Israel, 2022).
The Italian short films “Me & You” by Valentina de Amicis (2022), “Maltempi” by Carlo Fenizi (2022), “Letizia” by Francesco Manzato (2022), “Forgive us our Trespasses” by Lorenzo M. Chierici (2022), and “Una voce amica” by Roberto Palmerini (2022), will all be personally introduced by the directors and will start at 10:15 p.m.
