On the evening of 23 December 1985 in Cagliari, two bandits, armed and with their faces covered by balaclavas, broke into a liquor store, a fight broke out, two shots fired, the owner remained lifeless on the ground. Aldo Scardella lives in the neighborhood where the crime took place, in the following days he is arrested and placed in solitary confinement in which he will remain for 185 days. On 2 July 1986 Aldo, uninvolved in the facts, committed suicide by hanging himself in his cell in the Cagliari Buoncammino prison.
