In the old town of Taranto, an industrial area of Puglia, Maria tries to help her drug addict brother Donato, threatened with death for an unpaid debt. She has only one option: to steal. As much as possible, as soon as possible.

Born in Puglia, Giacomo was first a photographer before graduating from Le Fresnoy and getting the special mention of the jury in 2011. His short fiction and long documentary films have won awards in many international festivals (Torino, Winterthur, Indielisboa, Tampere...). His short film “Stella Marris” was selected for the César 2015 and won the Canal+ prize at Cinémed. Les cahiers du cinéma write about his cinema: “Before being militant, the cinema of Giacomo Abbruzzese is first of all lively and inspired”. Artist in residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts, at the Festival of Clermont-Ferrand and at the Cinefondation of the Cannes Film Festival, Giacomo continues his work as a director between France and Italy and is about to shoot his first feature film “Discoboy”.
