For the jury is \u201ca successful film, in which the risks of a predictable “biopic” structure are neutralized by the efficacy of the theatrical estrangement wherewith some fundamental points of the screenplay are treated. Always being between two dimensions is Havel’s strong point. We are visually and pleasantly astonished every time we are projected from reality to the stage of a theater and its representation. The set design, the costumes, the acting skills, the quality writing that overcomes all the difficulties of biographies and the “czech punk” soundtrack that manages to transport the viewer into the story, give this film a considerable added value. Last but not least the use of light, which underlines the atmosphere of each scene and makes the cinematography of this work really interesting. What else to say, a rare biopic that does not tend towards hagiography.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/p>\n\n Special mention<\/strong> to La Fortaleza<\/em><\/strong> by\u00a0Jorge Thielen-Armand<\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n\n The Best Feature Film Screenplay<\/strong> Award<\/strong> goes to Fred Buscaglione \u2013 Una vita al massimo <\/em><\/strong>by Gino Clemente.<\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n\n The Best Short Film Screenplay Award<\/strong> goes to Il Vino Cattivo<\/em><\/strong> by Gabriele Galligani<\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n\n The Best Story Award<\/strong> goes to Camilla non sta bene<\/em><\/strong> by Paola Michelini <\/strong>and Francesca Staasch<\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n\n The Award for the Best Animation Short<\/strong> goes to To the Dusty Sea<\/em><\/strong> by H\u00e9lo\u00efse Ferlay<\/strong> (France).<\/p><\/p>\n\n For the Student Short Film Section, <\/strong>the winner is Masel Tov Cocktail<\/em><\/strong> by Arkadij Khaet & Mickey Paatzsch<\/strong> (Germany), \u201cfor the caustic irony that deconstructs stereotypes and highlights the difficult relationship of the German population with their Nazi past, mocking the strong limits that still undermine the collective and individual consciences on both sides, a sign of the weight of a legacy that is too difficult to bear\u201d.<\/em><\/p><\/p>\n\n Special mention<\/strong> to Who Goes There<\/em><\/strong> by Astrid Thorvaldsen<\/strong> (UK).<\/p><\/p>\n\n The Best International Short Award<\/strong> goes to Khoonab<\/em><\/strong> by Mojtaba Ghasemi<\/strong> (Iran) because it is \u201ca very intense, well-conceived work, which offers an extraordinarily told glimpse of real and brutal actuality. A heartfelt tribute to fighting females, which brings the too little known reality of the current war in Syria to the screen.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/p>\n\n The Best Italian Short <\/strong>is Zheng<\/em><\/strong> by Giacomo Sebastiani<\/strong>, winning \u201cbecause it succeeds in the difficult intent of narrating the marginalization of the foreigners told from their point of view, specifically, the isolation and closure of the Chinese community in Turin made of other closures and individual and collective aspirations for a more dignified life\u201d.<\/em><\/p><\/p>\n\n Special mention<\/strong> to Amore Cane <\/em><\/strong>by Jordi Penner.<\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n\n The Rai Cinema Channel Prize<\/strong>, worth \u20ac 3,000, consisting of a contract for the purchase of the web and free TV rights of the short by Rai Cinema Channel, and which will give the winner visibility on www.raicinemachannel.it, on its partner sites and, at the discretion of the network managers, on RAI channels, goes to The Recycling Man<\/em><\/strong> di Carlo Ballauri<\/strong> \u201cfor the originality of the topics, for the writing down to the smallest details, for the setting in perfect cyberpunk style but absolutely credible at the same time, for the cinematography, for special effects… All worthy of a great film production.
