In early 90s, Giancarlo Bocchi started to make his own documentaries about conflicts, wars, and civil rights. Over the last fifteen years, he has conducted films about Afaghanistan, Burma, Bosnia, Chechnya, Chiapas, Colombia, Kosovo, Northern Ireland, Libya, Lebanon, Palestine, Western Sahara, Somalia, and Tajikestan.<\/p>\n

In early 80s, Bocchi made his first documentary as well as some other video works. In 1982, he made the documentary, \u201cGuerra alla Guerra\u201d with Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Allen Ginsberg followed by a host of other works in art and culture (Bacon, Picabia, Malevich, etc.). Some of his works were made along with the masters of Surrealism such as Paul Delvaux and Andre Masson.<\/p>\n

\u201cL\u2019assedio, Mille giorni a Sarajevo\u201d by Bocchi (already been awarded in 1996), was released in 2012, and is the only documentary which was made during the entire four years of the war. It narrates the story of three inhabitants of Sarajevo who have fought not to become employees of the war.<\/p>\n

\u201cDiario di un assedio\u201d will also been screened in this section. This movie has been premiered in Sun Moon Doc Film Festival in Palermo where the civil war devastated Bosnia during 1992-1995.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the documentary, \u201cIl Ponte di Sarajevo\u201d is about the mysterious ending of the pacifist Italian Gabriele Locatelli who died in Yugoslavia during the war in 1993.<\/p>\n
