 \u201cSEX COWBOYS\u201d BY ADRIANO GIOTTI WINS THE ITALIAN FEATURE FILM COMPETITITON<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cUNE JEUNE FILLE DE 90 ANS\u201d BY VALERIA BRUNI TEDESCHI AND YANN CORIDIAN WINS THE PRIZE FOR THE INTERNATIONAL  DOCUMENTARIES <\/strong>AND \u201c2 GIRLS\u201d BY MARCO SPERONI WINS THE ITALIAN DOCUMENTARY COMPETITION.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There has been a great public success for the XV edition of the RIFF<\/strong>, Rome Independent Film Festival<\/strong>, held form<\/strong> November the 25th<\/sup> to the 1st<\/sup> of December<\/strong> 2016 in the Cinema Savoy <\/strong>and the Cinema Europa<\/strong> of Rome with 110 films in competition including documentaries, short and feature films, coming from 24 countries in the world. RIFF has presented 15 world and 10 European premiers. There has been 12 films in competition, the 8 of which come from Canada, Germany, France, USA, Philippines, Spain and Chile.<\/p>\n

RIFF Awards<\/strong>, amounting to a sum of around 50.000 euros, were awarded to the following films during the awards ceremony with the presence of the Nobel Peace Prize winner, Alfonso Perez Esquivel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The best international feature film \u201c<\/strong>You\u2019ll Never Be Alone\u201d<\/strong> by Alex Anwandter (Chile)<\/p>\n

**Special mention to \u201c<\/strong>1:54\u201d <\/strong>by Yan England (Canada)<\/p>\n

The best Italian feature film: <\/strong>\u201cSex Cowboys\u201d<\/strong> by Adriano Giotti (Italy)<\/p>\n

The best international documentary<\/strong>: \u201cUne jeune fille de 90 ans<\/strong>\u201d<\/strong> by Valeria Bruni Tedeschi & Yann Coridian (France)<\/p>\n

The best Italian documentary: <\/strong> \u201c<\/strong>2 Girls\u201d<\/strong> by Marco Speroni (Italy)<\/p>\n

**Special mention to \u201c<\/strong>Gente di amore e rabbia\u201d<\/strong> by Stefano Casertano (Italy)<\/p>\n

The best international short film:<\/strong> \u201c<\/strong>Ja passou\u201d<\/strong> by Sebastiao Salgado (Portugal)<\/p>\n

**Special mention to \u201c<\/strong>Minh Tam\u201d<\/strong> by Vincent Maury (France)<\/p>\n

The best Italian sort film: <\/strong>\u201c<\/strong>E cos\u00ec sia\u201d<\/strong> by Cristina Spina (Italy)<\/p>\n

**Special mention to \u201c<\/strong>Parla che ti sento\u201d<\/strong> by Idria Niosi (Italy)<\/p>\n

The best student short film: <\/strong>\u201c<\/strong>Anna\u201d<\/strong> by Or Sinai (Israel)<\/p>\n

**Special metion to \u201c<\/strong>America\u201d<\/strong> by Aleksandra Terpinska (Poland) and \u201cGionatan con la G\u201d<\/strong> by Gianluca Santoni (Italy)<\/p>\n

The best short animation<\/strong>: \u201c<\/strong>Playgroung\u201d<\/strong> by Francis Gavelle and Claire Inguimberty (France)<\/p>\n

RIFF Awards 2016<\/strong> were awarded by the International Jury of the Festival, composed by the Italian journalist, Giovanni Anversa, <\/strong>the Finnish Jouni Kantola <\/strong>from the Berta film, the actors Riccardo De Filippis<\/strong> and Stefano Fregni, <\/strong>the president of the FICE Domenico Dinoia, <\/strong>the Spanish cultural operator Mar\u00eda del Carmen Hinojosa, <\/strong>THE Colombian actress Juana Jimenez, <\/strong>the distributer of the NewGold Serena Lastrucci, <\/strong>the screenwriter, director and the president of ANAC Francesco Ranieri Martinotti, <\/strong>the Spanish director Gabriel Vel\u00e1zquez, <\/strong>the Canadian journalist and producer Megan Williams, <\/strong>and the founder of the Wanted Cinema Anastasia Plazzotta.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Among the Italian guests present  during the week of the festival, it is worth mentioning Valeria Bruni Tedeschi<\/strong>, Pippo Delbono<\/strong>, Valeria Golino<\/strong>, Isabella Ferrari<\/strong>, Renato De Maria<\/strong>, Lorenza Indovina<\/strong>, Niccol\u00f2 Ammaniti<\/strong>, Silvia D\u2019Amico<\/strong>, Stefano Fresi<\/strong>, Teresa Saponangelo<\/strong>, Franco Nero<\/strong>, Alessandro Haber<\/strong>, Giordano Meacci,<\/strong> Alessio Boni<\/strong>, Valentina Carnelutti<\/strong>, Maurizio Sciarra<\/strong>, Dino Abbrescia<\/strong>, Federico Rosati<\/strong>, Ivan Franek<\/strong>. Among the foreigners, the Nobel Peace Prize winner Adolfo Per\u00e9z Esquivel, <\/strong>the British actor Jamie Bamber, <\/strong>the Oscar nominated director of photography Phedon Papamichael, <\/strong>Canadian actors Antoine Olivier Pilon <\/strong>and Lou-Pascal Tremblay <\/strong>and many directors were present during the festival.<\/p>\n
