The RIFF Awards – Rome Independent Film Festival<\/b>, is an international independent film festival whose main goal is to promote contemporary cinema. The festival takes place in Rome in November over 7 days and showcases about 100 premieres<\/b> of both Italian and international films which are distributed over 13 sections: first and second feature films, documentaries, short films, experimental films and animations, scripts and screenplays that stood out for their contents and techniques\u2019 originality.
\nAn international jury<\/b> made up of qualified experts will assess the works in competition, and will, ultimately, assign prizes for a total value of 20 thousand Euros.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The RIFF<\/b>, alongside the works in competition, will promote a series of events to encourage the cultural exchange between different artistic expressions and enhance the comparison with other countries. The programme\u2019s wide nature includes not only live performances, video artists, live music, and readings but also roundtables and workshops, in order to promote audience\u2019s professionalization, to encouraging it to be more an active contributor to the Italian and foreign cultural life.
\nSince the first edition in 2000, the RIFF has progressively become a regular event followed with interest in Rome, and a reference point for filmmakers from all over the world. As a matter of fact, every year RIFF receives over 2,000 submits<\/b> from all the 5 continents, thus representing a careful witness to indie cinema\u2019s growth.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Films made in the Italian territory by independent producers will be presented in a particular section within the RIFF programme. Special attention will be dedicated to works that promote our country and that allow knowledge of cultural and environmental heritage by developing the growth of competitiveness territorial.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Diversity and intercultural exchange\u2019s promotion <\/span> through the introduction of a full-day focus on LGBTQ<\/b> cinema which will involve major trade associations and illustrious personalities, and will provide screenings and meetings aimed at raising awareness on other countries\u2019 socio-political and cultural situations.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Audiovisual media as an educational tool.<\/span><\/p>\n

The use of film techniques in education is a way to enhance and facilitate understanding, to raise awareness, to communicate and share emotions, to convey evolution and change, and to spread culture.
